PMQ SEED – To Open Minds 2025: Senses in Play

Creativity is a process. Textures, sounds, and scents could all spark inspiration, allowing us to see shapes, dance in memory, or paint the gestures of winds with our bodies.

Our 2025 theme for PMQ Seed is “Senses in Play”. The five senses familiar to us — sight, sound, smell, taste, and touch — as well as the physical vestibular sense and proprioception, are not only useful receptors, but also tools for creation. By encouraging kids to explore their environment with all seven senses, we hope to foster mindsets that can lead with empathy and respond positively to changes in society.

With a range of literally stimulating activities, our program will be a blast for both action-oriented extroverts and thoughtful introverts. When students take the initiative to explore on their own and make sensory connections, the potential for creative growth may surprise us all.

With the support of the Cultural and Creative Industries Development Agency of the Government of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region as the Lead Sponsor, we continue to work with a team of local art and design professionals to present a diverse series of experiences, including the “Creative Training Class”, “Creative Summer Festival”, “Train the Trainer Workshop”, and “Seed Online”. We will also be participating in the Asia Learning Expo. We are inviting kids and teens from 6 to 14, educators, and parents to join us — let’s dive into a world of senses and explore the rhythms of creativity in play!

This year’s “Creative Summer Festival” is themed “The Creative Power Plant,” inviting children to become “Power Buddies” to explore the seven senses and design unique sensory games! “Power Buddies” will participate in “Pre-Festival Workshop” led by the AaaM Architects in July, awakening different sensory awareness and stimulating imagination. They will design sensory games with different sensory elements, bringing their inspirations to life. During “Creative Summer Festival” in August, they will lead the public and showcase the sensory games or experiences created during the workshops, encouraging everyone to explore their unique “inspiration channel.”

About PMQ Seed
Creativity is a seed—it holds the power to transform and move the world.

In our ever-growing society, with technology changing our lives by the day, creative and human-centered thinking will become increasingly important. We believe that planting the creative seed in the minds of children will contribute significantly towards their cultivation of character and creative thought, as well as growth and development in future society.

Since 2018, PMQ Seed has been collaborating with various local creative and educational organisations to design a series of cross-disciplinary and immersive educational activities, workshops, and exhibitions, with the aim of cultivating design thinking among school children. It is our goal to enrich children’s growth with creative design skills. Furthermore, through the application of human-centered thinking, we hope to learn from our new generation’s perspectives as we reflect on the present and unlock the future.
