The North Face Summit Innovation Lab Arrives: Unlock Exclusive Member Rewards
To commemorate the 25-year legacy of The North Face Summit Series and showcase its 25 years of mountaineering achievements, The North Face "Summit Innovation Lab" will make a limited-time appearance at K11 Art Mall in Tsim Sha Tsui from 7 to 16 November 2025. In addition to Hong Kong, the "Summit Innovation Lab" will also successively land in cities including Shenyang, Changsha, Chengdu, Taipei, and Guangzhou, promoting The North Face's spirit of outdoor exploration and its advanced layering system. Through the lab’s four core themes—"Summit Technology," "Summit Moments," "Athlete Stories," and "Interactive Experience"— the experience stands with outdoor enthusiasts in facing the extremes by decoding the gear technology and core values of polar exploration.
The "Summit Innovation Lab" is conceptually designed as a futuristic, silver-white laboratory. It will showcase several new collections from the Summit Series™, alongside a special display of the gear personally used by Hong Kong Based Landscape Photographer Kelvin Yuen during his recent expedition to the Karakoram mountain range in Pakistan. While taking in the 25 years of continuous evolution and innovation of the Summit Series, visitors can also enjoy the landscape photography Yuen captured during his journey, enabling everyone to explore the natural mystique of glaciers and snowy peaks and feel the powerful drive for endless exploration that motivates adventurers.

Brand New Advanced Mountain Kit Makes a Blockbuster Debut, Reshaping the Future of High-Altitude Mountaineering
Forged by 25 years of technological refinement, The North Face is introducing the new Summit Series™ Advanced Mountain Kit. This system merges superior performance with cutting-edge innovation and is specifically intended to provide elite athletes with the professional gear needed to tackle severe, high-altitude environments, enabling them to move quickly and achieve the most demanding alpine climbing goals. Upholding the mantra "Athlete Tested, Expedition Proven," the new Advanced Mountain Kit system has undergone rigorous field testing by The North Face athletes, including Benjamin Védrines, who broke the K2 speed ascent record while wearing the system, and Christina Lustenberger, who completed the first ski descent of Mount Robson’s South Face. The system features comprehensive upgrades and improvements in lightness, fit, compression/packability, and durability, and achieves three major breakthroughs: the debut of a female-specific Advanced Mountain Kit system, an upgraded modular layering theory, and revolutionary material innovation.
The Advanced Mountain Kit, having just debuted this year, was immediately selected for Fast Company magazine's The Most Interesting Product Design of 2025 list and earned a spot on TIME magazine's Best Inventions of 2025 list for its DotKnit yarn blend technology. The Summit Series™ Advanced Mountain Kit is now exclusively available at The North Face concept store in K11 Art Mall.
The Summit Series™ has for years helped numerous athletes and outdoor enthusiasts push past limits and potential, conquering multiple challenging trail routes. This includes Stone Tsang, who earlier wore the Summit Series on his expedition in Taiwan, and Kelvin Yuen, who completed his latest adventure of filming the world’s second-highest peak in Pakistan with the support of the latest Summit Series Advanced Mountain Kit.
"Having been in the trail running community for over 20 years, it's not easy to maintain the initial passion and constantly challenge myself. Thanks to The North Face's Summit Series™ for its high-performance gear — with a snug fit, light-weight comfort, and superb waterproof — that has accompanied me through highs and lows, constantly evolving and pushing me to break my own limits," said Stone Tsang. Check out his Taiwan expedition video here.
"The North Face Summit Series™ is more than just a piece of equipment. As I continuously venture into new territories for expedition and photography, I'm fortunate to have The North Face Summit Series' Advanced Mountain Kit as my companion. Incorporating a layering system, iIt provides highly insulating yet lightweight professional gears, supporting me to persist in my adventures, move forward, and document more awe-inspiring natural landscapes," said Kelvin Yuen.
The North Face Presents the Documentary TRANGO: Witnessing the First Ski Descent of the Great Trango Glacier
The Great Trango Glacier in northern Pakistan is home to one of the world's highest vertical drops and most treacherous clusters of granite cliffs. In 1984, an expedition team led by legendary Norwegian mountaineer Robert Caspersen became the first in history to reach the Great Trango Glacier amidst unimaginable challenges and dangers. The documentary TRANGO follows The North Face athletes Christina Lusti, Jim Morrison, and their team—Nick McNutt and Chantel Astorga—as they document their preparations and challenges undertaking the first ski descent of the Great Trango Glacier. At heights of up to 6,000 meters, they not only had to contend with the harsh natural environment but their team’s unspoken trust and support was also tested.
This documentary does more than just narrate a mountaineering journey; it is about a challenge that demands immense courage and perseverance to break limits and achieve the impossible, all while showcasing how the spirit of relentless exploration can change lives. TRANGO will be screened daily at the Summit Innovation Lab at 2:00 PM and 7:00 PM during the exhibition period, from 7 to 16 November.
