The Hong Kong Jockey Club (HKJC) and Tai Kwun invite you to step into a magical Christmas tale. This annual tradition, HKJC x Tai Kwun – Simple Gifts of Joy, brings to life three core accents of the season: joy, giving, and togetherness, promising an unforgettable festive experience for all. As this year marks the 140th anniversary of HKJC, the event also celebrates the city’s community, the people of Hong Kong who truly make good possible throughout the 140-year journey with the Club.
From 1 Dec 2024 to 1 Jan 2025, Tai Kwun transforms into a Wonderland-themed playground with a towering 12-metre Christmas tree glowing at its centre, sparking magic for all. The festive spirit will come alive at The Gift of Music – Tree Lighting Ceremony, and laughter will fill the air during whimsical Tai Kwun Circus Plays.
Visitors can also savour delightful seasonal treats and enjoy a curated selection of yuletide lifestyle experiences, from holiday shopping to indulgent dining. For TK FAN, exclusive offerings add a special touch to this season of joy, ensuring memories are made in the company of friends, family, and community.

Established in 2018 as one of the first contemporary circus festivals in Hong Kong, this exciting annual programme promises to bring the magic of contemporary circus arts to life with 12 captivating programmes from 14 December onwards. Featuring a diverse lineup of international, Asian, and local artists, the festival showcases from jaw-dropping acrobatics to heartwarming clown acts; each show is designed to combine artistic components and add theatrical dramaturgy, which will delight visitors of all ages. Every corner of Tai Kwun, from Parade Ground, Prison Yard to Laundry Steps and JC Cube, will buzz with energy as performers bring joy, laughter, and amazement to the holiday celebrations.

On the evening of 1 December, the magic truly begins as Tai Kwun unveils the annual highlight — HKJC x Tai Kwun – Simple Gifts of Joy. A special opening concert will mark the festivities, The Gift of Music, set to bring a joyful spirit to every corner of the site. As the sun sets, the Hong Kong Children’s Choir, Hong Kong’s most established and long-standing children’s choir, will take to the stage, their angelic voices filling the crisp evening air with melodies that evoke wonder and generosity.
