Merging a Hollywood film score, a rhythmic workout, a spectacular piano concerto and a blissed-out hymn to love on a cosmic scale — now add a large orchestra, a dash of Hindu philosophy, a star pianist and a vintage electronic instrument straight out of science fiction. The 80-minute Turangalila-Symphonie is performed for the first time by the Hong Kong Philharmonic Orchestra under the baton of Jaap van Zweden.
