They hold back their words even though they are anxious. But the weather and silent mountains in Lingnan films can express the characters’ thoughts instead. When I choose shooting locations, I have a sense to experience the sorrows and joys of human beings through the nature. Films become more moving if they only show 30% of what can be expressed, because they admit the dilemma of the soul. Such films embrace a wider world.
