The hand-made pipe organ, by Austrian manufacturer Rieger Orgelbau, has always been the focal point of the magnificent Hong Kong Cultural Centre Concert Hall. With 4 manuals, 93 stops and 8 000 pipes, this “King of the Instruments” remains one of the largest mechanical tracker action concert hall organs in the world. To explore the pipe organ’s majestic territory of sounds and rich tonal colours, the Hong Kong Cultural Centre proudly presents an exciting educational concert featuring two exceptional local organists, Marsha Chow and Gary Tong. Through audio-visual displays, they will take audiences on a fascinating journey, exploring the origin and development of the pipe organ, and intricate design of the Rieger Organ at the Concert Hall.
