At the heart of this opera is Violetta Valéry, a dazzling courtesan of Parisian high society—brilliant, beautiful, and dying.  Her world is forever changed when she falls in love with the young, idealistic Alfredo Germont. For the first time, she dares to dream of a life beyond the glittering salons—one of true love and quiet happiness.

But happiness comes at a price. Faced with family pressure and the unforgiving morals of society, Violetta makes the ultimate sacrifice: giving up the man she loves to preserve his family’s honor.
